The Village Christmas Lunch on 8th December was AMAZING! We had 51 visitors, plus lots of helpers to assist Jackie, Sally and Rita in making sure everyone was well fed and had an enjoyable time. The tables were very festive, and I am sure everyone agrees that the meal, starting with mulled wine and working through to mince pies and coffee, was excellent value. The Vicar took the opportunity to thank all helpers who make this monthly event possible, and particularly Jackie - the master mind/chef behind the Christmas lunch. (I took my camera and took a few photos of the preparations, but we were too busy to think about photos during the lunch, for which many may be thankful.) The Village Christmas Tree was once again a success : many thanks to Tracey Marshall and Heather Whitehead, plus their elfin helpers (!) On a crisp and clear evening, a large group of villagers gathered round the tree to see the lights switched on - after a fairly feeble countdown, we must do better next year - and to sup mulled wine, eat mince pies, and sing carols. A lovely start to the Festive Season. Click here to see photos of the tree and carollers. Site Last Updated - 28/08/2010 16:45:02
